The above Photo shows our old 2 story warehouse (that survived the civil war but not the highway department) It was bought and shipped by Rail, C&WC from Port Royal, S.C. and REBUILT.
Hwy. 81 got 10 feet off the front at one time and Hwy. 72 got it all.
Also the Old Feed and Seed Store before being were pushed down for the new highway 72. see next picture

RIDING THE RAILS,

Using the old C&WC Rail Road Bed for a short trip back to the barn in town......

Here is a recent picture using the Old Railroad Trail on a return trip to Calhoun Falls, S.C. from Lake Russell Dam OverLook. We are Crossing Golden Hill Dirt Road going north from south side of Calhoun Falls.

Rails or gravel on RR bed are gone
Tri S Ranch was hired to remove the old rails C&WC from Calhoun Falls to Iva,SC decades ago. We have used this RR system for many things since.

When finished, will be one of the largest horse trail riding/over night trail system in the country.
Special thanks to the US Army Corps of Engineers help, all the private land owners, US Land, S.C. Commerce Department, Investors, Calhoun Falls State Park, Mohawk, volunteers, the gentleman's agreements granted, and Beulah Land Ranch, for their gracious cooperation which makes all this possible.
